Matzoh

Matzoh, a miniature dachshund born in 2022, writes satire for Low Opinions. He is a graduate of Puppy Academy in Hermosa Beach, CA. His instructors did not expect that outcome, and his family has not stopped bragging about it.

Since then he has used his discretion freely, deciding with great care what he will and will not do. He is an observer by temperament and a deeply emotional dog. He loves all people without condition. Other dogs are a different matter: he keeps a small, select circle of friends, all of them dachshunds, and regards the rest of the species with indifference, and occasionally as the subject of a column.
